A couple weekends ago, I went to a lesbian wedding. A wedding, but not a marriage. You see, here in the state of Kansas, gay marriages are not recognized. Obviously, I am 100% FOR gay marriages. I’ve never been to a heterosexual wedding, but I’ve seen tons on television & in movies and stuff, and even though in movies the weddings are fake, I have always kind of assumed that a real life heterosexual wedding would be the same. Anyway, I was at the ceremony (beautifully put together, I might add) and as the minister was reading the stuff, I started to wonder why in the world is it wrong for two people of the same sex to want to get married? First, “satan” didn’t pop out of the ground and praise the gay couple for going against “god”. Second, nothing out of the ordinary happened, and last, the way they express their love (in public) is EXACTLY the same! Holding hands, kissing.. what is wrong with that? Absolutely nothing. I believe that everyone has the right to get married to whoever they want to, especially if they’re in love.
It will forever be beyond me why there are people who believe that two women/men shouldn’t be able to marry.
